Best free course creation platform

Best free course creation platform: the short answer

The only platform here with a standing free plan is TalentLMS: up to 5 users and up to 10 courses, with no credit card needed. The other six give a free trial, not a free plan.

LearnWorlds has no free plan. Its free trial lasts 30 days with no credit card required, and its first paid plan, Starter, is $29 a month, billed monthly, as read on October 4, 2026. The trial is a place to build a school, not to sell from it.

To create an online course for free on LearnWorlds, start the trial: it asks for an email address and a web address for the school. An organization can hold up to three trial schools at once, and a trial school allows up to 5 admins or instructors.

Free plans and free trials side by side

Each first paid price is the entry plan on monthly billing, except TalentLMS, whose price is shown for yearly billing.

Kajabi is not in the table: its pricing page shows a free trial without saying how long it lasts.

TalentLMS's free plan includes unlimited email support, and its pricing page lists no setup fees.

What a free trial cannot do

The LearnWorlds trial leaves out custom domains and payments, so it is for building and testing a school, not for selling from it. LearnWorlds free trial lists the rest of what the trial leaves out. The trial school holds up to 60 learner accounts and is closed to visitors who are not logged in.

At day 30 nothing is charged, and a school with no paid plan is scheduled for deletion. Elsewhere the rules differ: Thinkific says a Basic, Start or Grow plan can be canceled at any time, including during the 30-day trial; Teachable pairs its 7-day trial with a 30-day money-back guarantee; and Podia deletes an account that is never upgraded after 180 days.

Which free route fits which course maker

• TalentLMS free plan for a very small team of up to 5 users that needs a standing free tier; the cap is 10 courses. LearnWorlds vs TalentLMS sets it beside a paid LearnWorlds plan.
• LearnWorlds for a course maker who wants a month to build the whole school before paying: 30 days, no credit card, then Starter at $29 a month, billed monthly.
• Thinkific for the same 30-day window, with its price on Thinkific's pricing page.
• Teachable, Podia, Skool and Mighty Networks give 7 to 14 days, and none lists a free plan on its pricing page.
