Thinkific alternatives: six platforms and what each costs
The six Thinkific alternatives priced here are LearnWorlds, Teachable, Podia, Kajabi, LearnDash and Skool, and LearnWorlds is the closest: it offers LearnWorlds SCORM (a standard for packaged e-learning content that works across learning platforms) from Pro Trainer, $99 a month, billed monthly, as read on October 4, 2026, where Thinkific keeps SCORM for Plus.
Thinkific sells Basic, Start and Grow plans, with Plus sold through sales. Basic includes unlimited courses, quizzes and 1 community. Start adds live cohorts and coaching, unlimited Zoom sessions, completion certificates, bundles and memberships. Basic, Start and Grow each list 10,000 current students. It offers a 30-day free trial and no free plan, and its plan prices are on its own pricing page, so this page quotes none.
LearnWorlds Starter, $29 a month, billed monthly, plus $5 per paid enrollment (one learner's enrollment in a course), is the entry plan, and it caps active learners, meaning learners who access the school in a month, at 1,000. On annual billing, Starter is $24 a month and Pro Trainer is $79 a month, each billed annually. Learning Center, $299 a month, billed monthly, is for branded academies and training teams.

LearnWorlds as a Thinkific alternative: SCORM below a quote plan, a lower learner cap
The case for LearnWorlds is SCORM without a quote. Pro Trainer allows up to 20 SCORM packages of 400 MB each, 2 GB in total, so a school that must deliver SCORM courses does not need a sales call. LearnWorlds also lists a built-in community and social network on every plan, where Thinkific Basic includes 1 community. Certificates are not the difference: Thinkific's Start card lists completion certificates, and LearnWorlds certificates start at Pro Trainer, per the plan comparison.
The case against is scale. LearnWorlds caps active learners at 1,000 on Starter and 2,000 on Pro Trainer, where Thinkific lists 10,000 current students on Basic, Start and Grow. A school above 2,000 learners a month would move to LearnWorlds's top plan, which is sold by quote. LearnWorlds vs Thinkific sets the two side by side, and the LearnWorlds review lists every plan.
Which Thinkific alternative fits which course business
- LearnWorlds Pro Trainer, $99 a month, billed monthly, for a school that needs SCORM without a quote-only plan; Starter, $29 plus $5 per paid enrollment, is the way in.
- Teachable Starter, $39 a month, billed monthly, for a first plan with a 30-day guarantee and 5 products; Builder, $89, drops the transaction fee to 0%. Its own rivals are on Teachable alternatives.
- Podia Mover, $49 a month, billed monthly, for email inside the plan: 100 email subscribers, 25 community spaces and a 5% transaction fee. Shaker, $99, has no transaction fees.
- Kajabi Basic, $179 a month, billed monthly, for a seller who wants a website and 2,500 contacts together, with a 30-day money-back guarantee. Growth is $249 billed monthly.
- LearnDash, from $259 a year, for a team that already runs WordPress and will host it; Pro is $399 a year.
- Skool, Hobby at $9 or Pro at $99 a month, for a seller whose main product is a paid community; both list unlimited members, courses, videos and live calls.
- Thinkific itself for a school that passes 2,000 learners a month and wants no quote-only plan: Basic, Start and Grow each list 10,000 current students.
A school moving from Thinkific should count its monthly learners first, because LearnWorlds Starter stops at 1,000 and Pro Trainer at 2,000. The best online course platform page sets eight platforms against the buyer each one suits.
LearnWorlds and Thinkific can both be tried for 30 days; the LearnWorlds trial asks for no credit card.
